Your itinerary
Day 01 : Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Meet your safari guide in Arusha and travel into Tarangire, a landscape of giant baobabs, seasonal wetlands and elephant-rich woodland. Enjoy an afternoon game drive before settling into your lodge or camp with time to watch the last light over the park.
Day 02 : Tarangire – Ngorongoro Highlands
Begin with a final Tarangire drive when wildlife is active in the cooler morning. Continue toward the Ngorongoro highlands, passing farms and forested slopes. Arrive in the Karatu area for a relaxed evening and an introduction to the following day’s crater descent.
Day 03 : Ngorongoro Crater – Central Serengeti
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater early for an extended wildlife experience across the crater floor. Expect varied habitats and opportunities to see large mammals and birdlife. After the crater visit, continue west toward the Serengeti and settle into your camp in the central region.
Day 04 : Central Serengeti – Full Day Game Drive
Spend the day exploring the Serengeti around the areas with the best current wildlife activity. Your guide can adjust the route for resident predators, large herbivore herds and seasonal movement. Return to camp after a full day in the field.
Day 05 : Serengeti – Wildlife by Rhythm, Not a Clock
Enjoy another flexible Serengeti day. A slower morning can focus on smaller sightings, landscapes and photography, while an early start can be used for predators and active herds. The day is deliberately open so your guide can respond to conditions rather than follow a rigid loop.
Day 06 : Serengeti – Arusha / Airport
After breakfast, begin the return journey or connect with a scheduled flight according to your onward plans. Road transfers can include wildlife viewing where conditions allow, or the itinerary can be adapted for a domestic flight connection.
Frequently asked questions
01What is the ideal travel style for this safari?+
This itinerary works particularly well as a private safari for couples, families and small groups who want a comfortable pace and time for longer wildlife viewing.
02Can the itinerary be shortened or extended?+
Yes. The route can be adjusted around your international arrival, preferred accommodation, wildlife priorities and Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro extensions.
03What should I expect from the game drives?+
Game drives are guided around park rules, wildlife movement and road conditions. Early starts are common because the cooler hours can be productive for wildlife viewing.
04Can I request a cultural experience?+
Yes. Cultural experiences with Maasai or Hadzabe communities can be added where timing and community arrangements make sense.
05When should I book?+
Earlier planning is recommended for peak travel periods and preferred lodges. Cajanus can also advise on quieter-season alternatives.
